Scone McDonalds (from Hunter Valley Newsroom/2NM 981)

They’ve been talking about getting a McDonalds in Scone for years now, and finally it’s happening.

It will be on the outskirts of town though, so it will more than likely aim for the travellers (as will the Red Rooster and petrol station) rather than townsfolk I’d imagine. At least it’ll bring more jobs into the town, so that can only be a good thing.

i work at a mcdonalds on the coast, as casual staff, and i may be moving to scone in the september of this year. i was thinking of getting a reference to get a job when this new mcdonalds gets built but i can be too long without a job… i need to know how long it will be until it opens. i have heard rumours that it will be the end of this year but they havent even started building it yet…

I have not heard anything about the construction as yet, but I’d dare say rain would have delayed things some what. The local Toyota dealership is under the same predicament, their new facilities on the other side of town (on the highway towards Aberdeen) have also been delayed by the weather.

If I can get near the site and can find out more, rest assured I’ll put it up on the blog.
