Crusade to form a Squadron to cheer on teams (from The Herald)

See? It is indeed possible for both Newcastle teams to co-exist and support one another. I love this sort of story.

Could EAS finally be upgraded?

Jets win helps push for stadium upgrade: Fitzgibbon (ABC News)

What more proof do we need to justify getting EnergyAustralia Stadium upgraded? We have two excellent teams using the stadium all year long, not to mention the federal government wants to bring the FIFA World Cup here in 2018, and we’ll need a stadium here in the Hunter to host some games. It’s time for both state and federal governments to pull their fingers out of their arses and get a move on. We’ve waited long enough thanks to Howard’s bunch of dopes.

Oh -and to all those wanting the other team to die off so the other can prosper alone - get a grip. The Jets need the Knights as much as the Knights need the Jets, and slagging each other off does not help. I’m happy to accept not everyone will follow both sports, but you’ve gotta realise, they both use the stadium, and they both have to keep going in order to justify the upgrade. I’ve seen way too many Newcastle teams die off to see it happen again. Anyone willing to keep whaling on each other - I’m quite happy to pay for your one way ticket to China, or Venezuela, or Cuba, or any of those Communist dictatorships and you can stay there.

I’m tuned into the ABC’s coverage of the A-League grand final, in my Jets away shirt (they’re the “away” team today)…patiently waiting for 5pm to come around.

GO THE JETS!!!
